Rosie's 10th Taylor Swift Craft Party

craft party taylor swift

When Rosie asked for a Taylor Swift-themed craft party for her 10th birthday, this crafty Mum was all in! If you're thinking of throwing your own DIY celebration, here’s how we made it magical—without spending a fortune.

A Few Handy Tips

  • Prep like a pro: Cut, tie, and sort everything before the party starts. Trust me, it saves so much chaos!

  • Double tablecloths = double protection. Glue gets everywhere!

  • Mini glues for everyone = no waiting, no whining.

Ikea Frames

M&S Rainbow cake

Lip glosses

Craft #1 - Frames

I’d recommend doing the frames first as they take a little while to dry. We set them aside to dry whilst doing the other crafts and by the end of the party they were ready to take home. The frames were a bargain £1 each from Ikea, but I also saw some for £1.30 each in The Range.  They could be easily coloured in too with paint or pens. I pre-cut paper patterned paper (you could use wrapping paper!) and added into the frame, and peeled the film off all in advance to save any fuss on the day.

We used Rosie’s instant camera to snap a photo of her friends and stuck in with some washi tape. Then the girls went to town sticking the charms to their frames with the glue. I’ve linked some I got but you just need to search online for ‘flat backed resin #cabachons’.

Craft #2 - Pouches

I bought blank canvas zip pouches from Amazon, but you could also do tote bags, pencil cases or make up bags.

I got a huge selection of embroidered patches - something for everyone! Some were sticky backed which was super easy, so if you don’t want to deal with glue then look for ones with a peel off backing. Then the girls had fun decorating their pouches, and I also got some colourful zip pulls - totally optional!

Craft #3 - Lip gloss charms

I got a selection of lipglosses from the reduced section in Primark - 50p each! I pre punched a hole in the top (be really careful to go through the top sealed section and not pierce the tube!) I added a keyring, and then tied on some strands of thread in advance.

On the day the kids just threaded up beads like friendship bracelets with the cute beads I provided, and I helped them tie off the ends. You could make long ones to go around your neck or wrist too!

Sweet cones

I bought some sweet cones from Amazon and a load of cheap sweets from Home Bargains. Filled them up and tied with ribbon.

The Cake

No shame in shop-bought! We picked up a rainbow layer cake from M&S and popped on some cake toppers. Done and delicious.

Rosie had the best time, and the girls left with handmade goodies and big smiles. If you’re planning a craft party, I hope this gives you some inspo—and remember, it doesn’t have to be pricey to be perfect.
